RockThePost Lands One Of Tumblr’s Lead Engineers

Big news at RockThePost. The company just landed one of Tumblr’s lead engineers, Drew Butler, as CTO.

Drew Butler, has worked for the past decade in many capacities. In a former life he was a lead engineer and architect for the Quicken Loan’s family of websites, where he led and mentored his team on best practices and testing standards. He was the primary architect for 2 versions of their in house development framework and also helped birth their iPhone team.
Afterwards he moved to New York City to work with smaller teams and early stage products. His first company Fridge was acquired by Google in 2011. There he was instrumental in the management and development of their backend architecture that helped them scale through several critical phases of the company’s lifespan.
After the acquisition, he took the helm as the lead over at StyleCaster, where he managed a small team that developed a brand new social networking product, in an attempt to help the company re-envision its place in the industry.
He went on to work at Tumblr, acting as a generalist, and helped to spawn and lead several new initiatives, ranging from their ad platform, to their support system, and assisting in their user engagement strategy.
RockThePost is considering Drew to be a critical hire, at a crucial time in the life of the company. With equity crowdfunding still in its early phase, his experience in leading and mentoring teams is going to help take the company’s tech efforts to the next level. From RTP perspective his insights into user behavior and social networks will assist RTP in finding new ways to allow entrepreneurs and investors to communicate and engage with each other. All while helping the platform to scale with this burgeoning new industry.
Drew Butler stated that  “As a firm believer in the power of crowds, whether in the funding or the networking arenas, I truly see this as a moment in the history of financing that I am humbled to play a role in.”
